My Story
The search for inner strength and balance…
You may be feeling overwhelmed, alone, or resentful of the burden you have to carry.
You may feel tired and unmotivated about what lays ahead.
Or you may struggle with anxiety and depression.
And if you’re looking after other people, if often means your needs go unattended.
After a while, this can start to have a negative impact on your life.
But with the right skills, you can release these patterns and feelings for good.
I help people take care of themselves—to celebrate their inner strength and live with greater purpose and meaning.
Through mind-body practices, I can empower you with tools that you can use to help overcome physical and emotional obstacles.
I hold a safe and gentle space for you, without judgement, so you can undertake your journey of self-discovery and flourish on the other side.
Together, we can help you grow from your struggles.
How my journey began
My passion for somatic mind-body practices developed through my own healing and life experience.
Life up until my early thirties was busy and stressful.
Deep down, I knew I was avoiding issues from my past.
But every time memories would emerge, I’d push them down and work even harder to distract myself — that is how I had learned to cope and so far it had worked.
From the outside, I may have looked like I had it all together. But on the inside, I’d completely disconnected from my body and emotions. I was a bit of a robot and didn’t know there was more to life.
And then at the beginning of 2010, my body began to deteriorate physically and mentally. My symptoms went from whispers to screams until I couldn’t even will myself to get out of bed. I was diagnosed with Post-Viral Fatigue Syndrome, and in the absence of available tools or treatment, I felt hopeless and lost.
I had exhausted all of the environmental, medical and dietary treatments and there was nothing left but to look inwards.
It was one desperate internet search that finally offered a fresh look at how our mind and emotions affect our physical body and drain our energy. I finally decided to pay attention to how I was spending my thoughts and attention and how that affected my physical wellbeing.
And so began my journey of self-discovery. One that has brought me more depth, colour, love, playfulness and purpose than I ever could have imagined.
Through my personal experience, I have learned self-compassion and how to live a healthy, happy and more fulfilled life. I have transformed my relationship with myself and others and become deeply grounded in who I am.
And now, I can help you do the same…
Find yourself again
I now specialise in helping people achieve sustainable self-care, relieving stress-related symptoms like anxiety, depression and other chronic illnesses. My personal and academic experience with yoga, meditation, Buddhism, physiology, neurobiology and animal behaviour all combine to inform my practice and approach to healing.
